TARA |
Tara was rescued in September 2019 and we knew she needed surgery to remove a mass in her groin area. We only had her for a few days to get checked out by our vet and in that time she succumbed to the cancer that we were not aware she had that was untreated before her rescue.
We were too late to save sweet Tara but her spirit lives on with us. |
BALTO |
Our handsome Balto was rescued in early 2017 and he lived with us until September 2019. He loved playing in the yard, running with toys and eating all the treats he was allowed to have. He was quite easily one of the most photogenic dogs we have had in the rescue.
He passed away unexpectedly and we miss his sweet face so much. |
"Old Man" JACK |
Jack came to SDF in the summer of 2017 as a rescued stray from High Point NC. At Jack's first vet visit, we were informed of his adenocarcinoma (anal gland cancer) that was inoperable. He lived at the Farm, had lots of dog/human friends and he worked on his Bucket List which included a boat ride, an ocean swim, a ride on a fire truck, a hotel sleepover and best of all, an Ice Cream Party all his own! He was a sweet old soul who loved everyone he met immediately and everyone loved him immediately.
Jack went to the Rainbow Bridge in early January 2018. We think he was about 8 years old. |
GRACIE |
Sweet Gracie was a 6 year old Siberian Husky who was given up along with her 12-year old mother when her family could no longer care for them. Gracie was diagnosed with mammary tumors which were removed and did prolong her life for a few more months but she eventually succumbed to cancer.
Gracie passed away in November 2017. |
ROXIE |
Roxie was 12 years old she was rescued - she had been neglected and her toenails were so long they curled under the pads of her feet. Her hips were bad and she got laser treatments several times a week for the remainder of her life. With this medical care, she was able to walk pain-free and trot across the yard. When her condition worsened and laser therapy no longer helped, we let her go. She passed in March 2017 leaving her daughter Gracie. Gracie has now left us too. Roxie and Gracie were our first rescues in the Farm and we miss them both!
